~Who'll Be Left?~

Image hosting by Photobucket

What ever happened to the good times...
The ones that we remember best ...
When every day seemed sunny
And every soul seemed blessed?

Now we just slide on down life's highway
As if we're on "cruise control".
There's no "yours" and there's no "my" way,
And no more blessings for the soul.

And every bend in that highway
Means another waved "goodbye".
When we round the very next corner,
 Whose turn will it be to die?
Who'll be left alone to cry?

~Moon Pie Love~

Just sitting on the corner down in Fayetteville
   (That's in North Carolina),
Munching moon pie and sipping a sweet
   And ice-cold Pepsi-Cola,
Munching moon pie and giving the eye
   To the sweet chick near my corner:
Think I'll ask for a kiss and if she says "yes",
   You know my heart's a goner.

"Say, Sweetness and Light, would you like a bite
   Of moon pie and a sip of Pepsi-Cola?
Would you like to go down to the heart of town
   And put a quarter in the old Rock-Ola?
And once we're there, together we'll share
   Another moon pie and Pepsi-Cola:
We'll stay up late until we've ate
   Every moon pie in North Carolina.
We'll never go back to the beaten track,
   We'll love forever and ever
And raise a passle of kids to do the things we did
   And we'll always be together.
We'll dedicate our love to the stars above
   As we sit 'neath a silvery moon:
Munching moon pie and sitting side by side
   On a life-long honeymoon."

Just sitting on the corner down in Fayetteville
   (That's in North Carolina),
Munching moon pie and sipping a sweet
   And ice-cold Pepsi-Cola,
Munching moon pie and sighing a sigh
   For the sweet chick who's left my corner:
You know, she didn't say "yes" to my request;
   Now, my poor heart's a loner.

So I'm left a loner on my corner
   With my moon pie and Pepsi-Cola;
But, it's just as well, 'cause what the hell?
    I didn't have a quarter for the old Rock-Ola...
Still, the Lord is kind 'cause he left behind
   Moon pie and Pepsi-Cola;
And if there's one thing I'd miss more'n a kiss:
   It's be moon pie - and Pepsi-Cola!
